Common Questions:

When Should I Arrive?

If you are planning to visit for the first time you will want to arrive about 15 minutes early. This will give you time to stop by our Welcome Center, ask questions, find where you need to go, and settle in before things get started. Families bringing children should plan more time to drop their children off at the nursery or their classroom.

Word of Life's Morning Worship Service is at 10:45 AM but we hope you will come as a family at 9:00 AM, where we have something to offer each member of the family. There is nursery for children infant-PreK, Kindergarten Class, Life Lesson Classes for 1st-5th grade, Jr. & Sr High Classes, College & Career Class and a variety of Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) Classes.

Coffee Fellowship Time is at 10:15 AM and it is a great place to connect with other individuals and build friendships.

The 10:45 AM Worship Service also offers nursery, as well as KW2 (Kids Worship Too), an engaging children's ministry for ages 1st-5th grade.

What Should I Wear?

In our services you will find people dressed in everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a coat and tie - so come in whatever makes you comfortable.

What Is the Style of Music?

It is our intent to praise God through song. With that in mind our worship team leads our Sunday service with a blend of both traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.

Who is Your Pastor?

Word of Life is an Elder led church and our Board of Elders lead as we seek God's plan for us to reach the community of Alpena and its surrounding areas. Our Lead Pastor Elder is Rev. Scott A. Joy.

Are Children Allowed in The Service/What is Offered For My Kids?

Children of all ages are welcome to stay with their parents during the service. However, we do have nursery care and classes available for children of all ages during the 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM ministry hours.
