Word of Life has a number of Adult Ministries. A variety of topics, age groups, and times (Sunday morning or during the week) gives you the opportunity to get plugged in and involved with a group that will meet your needs!
An ABF is a group or community of people committed to know
and apply the Word together in a caring fellowship with organization to bring
about pastoral care, discipleship, and outreach. ABF's are usually divided by
age groupings so there is a natural affinity and strong bond. There will be
ABF's meeting at the church for all age groups (18 to 100 years of age) each
Sunday morning at 9:00 AM. Although most ABF's break during the summer months
there are a few that still meet, so check with the church office for a detailed
Our Adult Bible Fellowships are not just Sunday School classes—they are small communities of faith within Word of Life. Being in an ABF means being a part of one another’s lives, staying in touch throughout the week, and encouraging each other to walk with the Lord.
The Rock (Meets All Year)
The Rock is the best place to start if you are new to Word of Life or looking to get involved in an ABF for the first time. Like the wise man who built his house on the rock, this fellowship helps set the foundation of our faith for building great things. Led by an energetic and dynamic team, we have open, biblically-based discussions to answer your questions and help one another grow in Christ.
The Rock meets Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in room 100.
Families In Search of Hope (F.I.S.H.) (Starts Sept. 9th)
Geared towards parents, this new ABF will start the year with a study on marriage. Join the fellowship and find the hope God has for His people. Beginning Sunday, September 9th.
F.I.S.H. will meet Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in room 101.
The Bereans ABF (Meets All Year)
Everyone is welcome to join the Bereans as we walk through the Scriptures and consider how we are called to live our lives today. Join us this fall as we explore a book of the Bible that declares, “blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it.”
The Bereans meet Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in room 107.
The Seekers ABF (Meets All Year)
Come and discover something new with the Seekers. This fellowship explores God’s Word through a variety of short studies as we seek after Him. Open to anyone, this group continually brings something new to your walk with the Lord.
The Seekers meet Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in room 110.
At Word of Life we say that L.I.F.E. stands for Living Intentionally For Eternity. L.I.F.E. Tracks are the practical training element of our Disciple-Making Process here at WOL, helping us develop into more fully devoted and fully developed followers of Christ. They emphasize the practical day-to-day aspects of L.I.F.E. Last year we introduced our first three L.I.F.E. Track courses. This fall, we are starting strong with four different L.I.F.E. Tracks on Wednesday evenings as part of L.I.F.E. Night. Prayerfully consider joining us to grow in your walk with the Lord with one of these L.I.F.E. Tracks this fall.
Each of these L.I.F.E. Tracks will be offered as part of our fall L.I.F.E. Night from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM on Wednesday Evenings starting September 12th through November 14th. Please sign up for your fall L.I.F.E. Track in the church foyer or by contacting the church office.
A Disciple's L.I.F.E.
This L.I.F.E. Track will give you an overview of the path of discipleship at WOL. It will help you explore the basics of both the life and ministry of a disciple of Christ. You'll be equipped with fundamental knowledge, attitudes and skills that will help you grow personally and also train you in the preliminary steps of how to disciple others.
A Firm Foundation
Anything worth building is set on a firm foundation. This L.I.F.E. Track will walk through the essentials of the Christian faith discussing things like:
¨ What is special about the Bible?
¨ Are Jesus and God the same?
¨ Now that I’m saved, what do I do?
Led by Rick Demarr, A Firm Foundation is a great place for anyone looking to better understand what we believe.
If you were to sum up your feelings about handling money in one word, would that word be “peace?” This Financial Stewardship L.I.F.E. Track features Financial Peace University, a proven course that uses seven easy-to-follow baby steps to create a budget, get out of debt, and make a plan for using your finances in ways that are pleasing to God. A Financial Peace University Membership packet, available at the start of the course or purchased in advance, is required. Course details and registration are available online by scanning this code or by going to fpu.com/1068836.
Ladies’ Prayer Group
Each Monday morning the ladies of Word of Life gather together to pray. Join your sisters in Christ as we lift our prayers and praises up to the God of heaven. We meet every Monday at 9:00 AM in the prayer room.
Women’s Missionary Fellowship
The Women’s Missionary Fellowship supports the compassionate work of God through His missionaries here and around the world. We pray for our missionaries, participate in community outreach, and take part in a card ministry. We also sew items such as baby blankets and diapers for missionaries and wrap band-aids for the White Cross.
We meet the second Monday of the month in the Fellowship Hall.
Ladies’ Bible Study
All women are welcome to join this caring group that seeks to know God’s truth and to love one another as Christ has taught us. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in July and August this summer from 10:00 AM until noon in room 110.
Men’s Bible Study and Breakfast
Men, join us each Wednesday morning at 7:45 AM in the Fellowship Hall for a light breakfast and a time of group study in God’s Word. We are focusing on drawing out the meaning of the Scriptures and applying them to our lives.
